The documentary
Five young Tuscans, one shared passion and the path that would carry them into the history of Italian cinema and style.
Told through the voice of Carlotta Bolognini, niece of director Mauro Bolognini, the film reconstructs the formative years and friendships of Mauro and Manolo Bolognini, Franco Zeffirelli, Anna Allegri and Piero Tosi.
From the classrooms of the Liceo Forteguerri and the streets of Pistoia to the theatres of Florence, post-war Rome and Cinecittà, their stories pass through war, the Resistance and Neorealism.
Interviews, archive material and reconstructions show how a shared passion became a way of life.
