The film

On Halloween night in Ancona, a solitary pastry chef and a young Ukrainian woman must face the secret that ties them to Chernobyl.

It is Halloween night in Ancona. While the city celebrates, Christian, an introverted pastry chef in his fifties, shuts himself away to finish a monumental wedding cake. His solitude is broken by the arrival of Nina, a fragile, bewildered 23-year-old Ukrainian: she is the daughter of the “Chernobyl girl” Christian took in many years ago.

Outside, a storm rages and a blackout plunges the house into darkness. Among old photographs and unspoken truths, Christian and Nina clash and recognise each other: two survivors trying to save one another before the sun comes up.
