The documentary
The story of Virtus Roma, Rome’s historic basketball club, told by those who lived it: from its foundation and the triumphs of the 1980s to its very last game.
Fino al cielo traces the history of Virtus Roma, the capital’s historic basketball team, from its foundation to its final bow in 2020.
Through archive footage and new interviews with executives, players, coaches and journalists, the documentary revisits the triumphs of the early 1980s, the league title and the European Cup, the 2013 play-off final and the bond between the team and its city.
With contributions from Giovanni Malagò, Walter Veltroni, Valerio Bianchini and Luigi Datome, among others, it portrays a team that united fans of every sport under one flag.
